I wasn’t quite aware that I was entering a ‘contest’ when Melanie “Scupperlout” Sherman asked for help with a 140-character pitch for her new novel. There’s very little more satisfying than winning a contest – but winning a contest you didn’t even know you’d entered beats even that!
