What is WriteSpa?

WriteSpa is an oasis where you can relax and feel replenished. This is where you let go of your anxieties about accomplishments, publication, success, or even ability. In the midst of your hectic days, dark nights, and troubles, there is a place you can come for quiet and nourishment. In this quiet oasis, Writing as a friend. It’s a place that offers a respite of serenity and repose; the shade of a palm tree; the cool drink from a fresh spring; a friendly encounter.

This place is inside you.

All I do is try to point the way.

This I do by offering writing practices that you help focus your thinking, rather like a meditation. You’ll learn to write rhythmically: I always suggest you try to set aside 20 minutes to an hour daily for writing practice, just like a regular workout. You’ll flex and stretch those writing muscles that atrophy from lack of use. You’ll learn to write with focus: a habit you can use for any number of other activities in your life. I believe that there’s a healing and luxurious quality to the process of writing that draws out your natural inner harmony and which calms the franticness of the world around. When your thoughts and ideas are given freedom, your heart’s longings are soothed.

Welcome. I hope you’ll find the pause here soul-satisfying and delightful.
