Ask anyone who knows me: I don’t much like contract killers (even if they have a hearts of bronze), or murderous midgets, bloodcurdling giants, gorgeous hit gals, or absurdly violent torture scenes. But I was enthralled by Lethal People, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Lethal Experiment, and when John Locke asked if I’d take a peek at Saving Rachel, I was thrilled (literally).
John Locke writes deftly, humorously, and captivatingly – and with such animation and tension that I turned the pages so fast I got paper cuts (not easy when you’re reading on a laptop). I found myself laughing out loud, then having to squeeze my eyes shut through some particularly terrifying moments, and then little tears welling.
John’s kind words about me are deeply appreciated, but to be honest there was very little that I did for him. Before we met he was already a superb thriller writer, and he is destined to be a bestselling author. Now I also consider him a generous friend.
