Happiness 9-5
a surprise encounter; sleeping late; squirrels everywhere you look.
a surprise encounter; sleeping late; squirrels everywhere you look.
the mist clearing; reassurance; bees buzzing in a field of wild flowers.
I’ll be sharing some poems at a poetry reading to benefit The Rudolf Steiner Library on Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. Please come!
standing on your head; a clear sign; intense heat smashed by the thunderstorm.
playing with elephants; a box of clementines; pet names.
the bus coming; watching the sun set from the roof garden; relief.
stepping lightly through the flowerbeds; curry; the softness of sand dunes.
a good rest; swimming in the Dead Sea late in the afternoon; the rose garden.
furnishing a doll house; the Maur Adrar desert; singing loudly in the back seat of a car.
the sweetness of kissing at dawn; a cloak of invisibility; perfect understanding.
feeling your way in the dark; salamanders; knowing you’re safe.
I have just received a letter from my publisher saying that sales of Heaven Falls have topped 1,000. They’re at 1300, to be precise.

crossing the desert at night; sincerity; the wind at your back.
plunging into the waves; new soft slippers; remaining completely calm.
a glance softening; playing hide and seek; the small box lined with dark blue velvet.
a flock of wild parrots outside your window; being beloved; meeting at an old lighthouse.
a rendezvous in the gazebo; cascading bougainvillea; your hands and mouth stained purple from picking blueberries.
a pelican soaring over the waves; understanding the language of birds; the greatest gift.
being invited to dance; hundreds of fireflies in the garden; an extraordinary discovery.
eyes the color of violets; standing on your head; light at the end of the tunnel.
sleeping in the turret; taking her by the hand; Mars and Venus at 6 degrees
mist rising off the lake; slowing down; wild honey.
