Today is Tuesday, or “Mars’s Day.” Tiw is the name of the Norse god of war, victory, and law. Tuesday is ruled by our planet Mars, the Roman name for the god of war and agriculture. Mars has a passionate, fiery, determined, courageous energy that you can use throughout the day.
Mars rules the zodiac sign of fiery Aries (Ares is the Greek name for the god of war). Aries people tend to be impulsive, passionate, strong-willed, willing to butt heads in their desire to learn more about life and their relationship to it, energetic. They tend to leap before they look.
Today’s color is red, whether ardent crimson, or inspired vermilion, or adoring pink … red comes in various hues and shades and vibrations. Embrace them all today. The Hebrew name for Mars is Ma’adim which means ‘red’ and ‘humankind.’ Notice that you feel part of a greater humanity today.
Mars rules the root chakra, at the base of your spine. This is the center of your feeling grounded, centered, and deeply at home on this planet: secure, safe, prosperous, and strong.
Now look at your hands. Your plain of Mars is the band across the middle of your palm. Take a peek at the area above your Mount of Venus and below your Mount of Jupiter (your index finger). When that area is very soft and tender, or super-lined or blue (instead of red), your energy may be low. You can increase it simply by massaging that area and moving the flow up toward your Jupiter finger. This is the area of your palm that has to do with your earliest childhood, and sometimes your sense of self, intuition, or wonderfulness may have been squashed early in life.

Archangel Samael rules Tuesday, and he is known as an angel of courage, the warrior of God, and the angel of transformation. He is also a healer, protector against violence, and has an energy very much connected to humanity.
Tuesday’s metal is iron, its tree is oak, its crystal is ruby, carnelian, garnet, or any red stone. Its organ is the gall bladder, its tone is C, and its vowel is E. Today’s grain is oats. Its numbers are both 4 and 9.
According to Rudolf Steiner, the mood of the day has to do with “Right Deed.” Act out of your own inner conscience, consider carefully how to meet the demands in the right way for the highest good for all concerned, including other people, yourself, and the Eternal. Here’s a practice for today: be adventurous. Do something you haven’t done before, that perhaps takes some courage. You have the energy, the will forces, and the foundation to be successful and to grow in wisdom, most importantly about yourself. The question to ask, as you set out on a quest or adventure with Mars as your ally, is “Who Am I?”
