Why is it that we tend to avoid feeling our feelings whenever we can? Probably because they disturb us, make us feel weak and unsettled. We don’t even necessarily understand them. They are sharp, irritating, piercing, and can make our eyes sting. They are also tangy, tasty, and delicious, and heighten our experience of life. When we allow our emotions to simply be emotions, rather than trying to control them or wishing they would go away, they add piquancy and flavor to daily life.
