comfort the strong.
We tend to more quickly hear and respond to the cries of the weak, the poor, the suffering, and the sick. We offer solace and comfort and support in the various ways that we can. But what about those who are leaders, guides, mentors, and advisors? Who comforts them? Become increasingly aware of those who you feel might be greater than you, those who seem calm and loving, people who have the power to help others, leaders who have to make difficult decisions. Show your support, whether you encounter them in social situations, at work, in your family, or in your spiritual quest. Ask, “What ails thee?” Ask, “Can I do anything for you?” Remind them of their wisdom and human-ness. Be kind even to those who you feel are beyond the need for kindness. No one is.
