how will you act?
Most of the time we show up as players on the stage of life. No matter how authentic and self-aware we are, each time we encounter someone, we play a role. At the check-out counter we can be the polite customer. During a heated argument we can be the outraged convincer. When we’re eating with family or friends, we each have our own ideas about how we’re supposed to behave. Many people are more comfortable knowing their assigned roles than exploring how their authentic selves want to act. It feels safe to know what’s expected, to do what we’re told we ‘should’ do (which we’ve been instructed since before we could remember). Now it’s time to try stretching your acting muscles! Practice new ways of responding. Because in this life you are free to act in any way you choose, and as long as you’re acting out of your kind, loving heart, you won’t forget your lines or act out of character. You’ll embody the role you really want to play.
