Getting used to something, before wholly embracing it, is a fine way to go. You don’t have to know ahead of time whether or not it’s the right thing to do or the best way to go. Try it out. Explore it. Test the temperature. How deep is the water? What is around those great rocks? Go slow. Take your time exploring the feel of the thing. Welcome in your trepidation with gratitude. Shake hands with it, talk to it, before letting it go on its way. Feel it dissolve as you go farther into your exploration. That way you can swim into the experience with confidence and pleasure, and you’ll only go as deep as you can or want to.
