We put up armor of all kinds around ourselves for protection or because we’re afraid. That’s okay, but it’s also okay to sometimes allow ourselves to be naive and unsure and even scared. It’s good to let other people take care of us sometimes—to give them the opportunity to offer a kind word or a hug. Most people like to be asked to help or console. Most people are hurt when we don’t ask them for guidance or a friendly word. Yes, we need to be there for each other. That means letting someone be there for us, too.
