Remember how much we enjoyed dressing up when we were kids? When I was four years old I was part of a wedding party in Greece, and the white frothy petticoat I had to wear under the stiff white dress still sends an awed thrill through me when I think of it. Later, I always adored getting into costume for a play. Dressing up makes anything feel lighter and merrier, whether it’s a doll, or a child, or yourself. It adds gaeity and amusement to any occasion, just as it did when you were young and you played dress-up. Let your happiness emerge out of the stillness of pleasure that happens when you adorn yourself or your surroundings. Dress up a room in your house or make an extra-delightful dressing for a salad. Get out lots of color and sparkles. Get creative. Be cheerful. Have fun.
