I was mulling the theme of purification this morning. As with everything in life, we experience purification physically as well as metaphysically. Purifying (or cleansing, disinfecting, social distancing) is the theme for everyone in the world just now. But are we being mindful about it, or are we just anxious? What is the intention of purity? Here’s what I came to: Every morning, our angels of purity shower us (as well as our towns, neighborhoods, plants, elemental beings, etc.) with pure love. These angels show up more frequently when we need to feel cleansed, decluttered, innocent again. When we become mindful of our angels of purity, we feel refreshed and hopeful. They’re here to help us wake up to pollution and sickness so we can grow more conscious of what truly constitutes health and well-being. Gratitude is at the heart of feeling purified. Just as thanking our water activates a peaceful energy in the water itself, so does thanking our soap activate a deeper sense of purification. Look around at other ways to purify: clean not because you’re anxious or bored, but because when things get messy and dirty around you, you feel the chaos inside you. Many of us haven’t had time to pay attention to decluttering, clearing, giving away, emptying, and purifying our homes. Now’s the time. Clean away old habits, judgments, and residual hurts and resentments. Purify your relentlessly chattering thoughts and instead focus on your heart. Purifying inside and out revitalizes the space around you as well as your inward space. Let that pure, loving, courageous energy flow through your energetic field. Now is the time.
