between the sky and your soul are steep mountains and deep valleys.
It’s amazing to explore our inner worlds and to discover heights of thought and imagination and depths of wisdom and love. Nothing we’ve encountered on land or sea can match the visions, adventures, passions, and truths that we experience when we travel inward. If you don’t know how, start by meditating. If you’re a seasoned meditator, try going deeper, longer, and differently. Some people tell me they’re afraid of what they might find. Do they worry they’ll lose their luggage or find themselves in strange unknown caves of neuroses and phobias? But those don’t live in our soul — those are just in our mind. I’m not talking about a mental journey! When you travel far enough inside your soul there is only illumination, expansiveness, tenderness, and joy.
