Do you struggle with making decisions? Most of us do. Several decades ago I was practically incapacitated with my inability to decide anything. I remember going to the grocery store and feeling overwhelmed and often paralyzed. Even choosing between broccoli or spinach felt agonizing. My healing came to me through a seemingly random guide suggesting I practice using a pendulum. Sometimes I feel he saved my life. For about a year I used a pendulum to help me decide things from tiny to looming. Because of its energetic support and guidance I was able to care for my small children, make a living, and eventually even move out of the city to the beautiful place I live now. The way a pendulum works, very briefly, is that it helps us to access our unconscious “knowing” rather than relying on our limited mental knowing, which can wrap us up in straitjackets. The most important lesson I learned from my beloved pendulum is that usually it simply doesn’t matter what one decides. Broccoli or spinach? Wearing green or blue today? But what is important is that one doesn’t get stuck in a paralyzing mental box. Using a pendulum took me out of the box into freedom. You don’t have to use a pendulum to feel this sense of freedom—unless you would enjoy it—but you do need to decide at times rather than think about deciding. Choose—make a decision. And know that tomorrow you can choose something else.
