Stillness 3-26

I’m not asking you to give up hope – I’m asking you to love what is.

Expand into the experience of despair – let it breathe out as far you can within your comfort zone, and you realize even grief and sadness and desperation become part of a great big swarming pageant of the experience of being human. When despair becomes simply part of an ongoing procession of all kinds of feelings, you’ll find it enriches, soothes, inspires, and morphs into compassion, empathy, and solace. Now is not the time to give up hope, but to expand into the melancholy – or joy – and to know, always, that even if the best is yet to come, the present moment is better still.
