Stillness 5-18

in your core you are lush and succulent.

Breathe in the sensation of moist spray, as though from a bubbling brook splashing against a mossy rock. Feel your squishiness, flexibility, and softness. Dance your way into your damp, wet, steamy psyche. We are so busy that we tend to live in the arid world of our mental check-lists of dos and musts, organizing our time and even our pleasures as though they were carefully arranged knick-knacks on a dry shelf. As we get older, we are handed the mindset that it’s normal to always be slightly thirsty for lush sumptuousness in ourselves. Increasingly, we think we have to worry, fuss, and take care of … But that is not how it has to be. Your verdant, continually growing and flourishing essence is what is really normal. Today, take some time to listen to the sound of dripping condensation. Hear the sultry calls of birds, the languid squawk of a mysterious creature, the stream gurgling along without anything to do except what it does. In stillness, let yourself be saturated by the sweet dewiness of your ever-renewing, growing, thriving, jungle soul.
