The “dog days of summer” refer to the time when Sirius, the Dog Star, is visible just before dawn. As we enter into this time, it’s good to let ourselves feel flooded by the ‘too muchness’ of heat, of deep feelings welling up, and of being inundated by a sense of not knowing what is next. Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and has a significant—and deeply mysterious—effect on our planet and ourselves. (You can read more about this effect on the post I wrote here)
