look into my eyes and dance.
I love finding stillness through being in motion. Dancing with a partner is a great way to do that. Watch dance partners who are syncopated—they are completely in each other’s flow and awareness. And if you’ve ever waltzed with someone, you know that it’s only by focusing intently on your partner’s eyes that you won’t get dizzy as you whirl around the dance floor. What’s great about dancing is that you don’t have to speak to communicate—it’s communication through movement. A slight pressure here, a touch there … Even better, you don’t need a partner to dance your way to stillness. I dance alone: first I feel a sense of communication with it, as though I’m looking into its eyes, and then I become stillness, even while I’m moving. Try moving as though you’re in love with motion and your self. If you want to hum or play music, that adds to the pleasure.
