Stillness 7-8

repair it or leave it but don’t stay in it as it is.

It’s odd that being quiet and still can make us feel clearer about decisions we have to make, but it is so. We tend to go into left-brain-mode under the stress of having to figure something out—writing lists of pros and cons and discussing options with friends and alleged experts. But each one of us is our own best expert. It’s as though we have a personal ‘expert’ adviser inside us, always willing and able to offer the best guidance, advice that is for the highest good for all concerned. The more we can tune into that part of ourselves, the more we feel in harmony even with the shoals, currents, and dangers we meet on our journey. When every way out of a situation seems damning, grow still and listen … sometimes it takes three days of pure, quiet listening to yourself. All the shoulds, expenses, worries, concerns for others, concerns for self, anxiety about the unknown fall away and drift far off like soft thistledown. The way becomes crystal clear and really not so impossible after all.
