Never alone

Something we may realize more and more clearly as we get older is that we are never alone. We are held by family, friends, strangers, neighbors, colleagues. By animals, plants, crystals, beloved objects, and houses. By those who have died who love us and those yet to be born. By angels and elemental beings. By the planets and stars … I could go on and on, naming our partners and friends that swirl around and inside us throughout our lives. When we’re children, part of our journey is to learn to separate ourselves from all that we intuitively know is within us and part of us. The task of becoming human is individuation and learning about one’s own self and destiny. But as we get older, we may begin to remember how connected we are to everything and everyone. The dragonfly skimming on the surface of the pond to the star that is not yet visible to our beloved who died … we are surrounded by conscious love. Let yourself feel loved today. Stand under a tree and let it love you. Let the sun and the moon and the stars love you. Hear a whisper on the wind from a friend of long ago and let them love you. Know that your true destiny is connection, not separation. You are never alone.
