I awake to a light spring snow. Sounds are muffled. Birds are quiet. The earth feels still. The hush reminds me of a lullaby. There is nothing to do. Nowhere to go. We are wrapped in a soft presence, the here and now. The voice of our Mother Earth lulls us to a soothing somnolence. We are babes in the woods, innocent, trusting, perhaps exhausted from tantrums, hunger, feelings of abandonment, despair, loneliness, and fear. We are babes being reassured that our great Mother will take care of us. She’s always with us, pacifying, consoling, nurturing us. As we seclude, let us wrap her mantle of love around our little bodies. We are so penetrable and soft. Feel her comfort. There is nothing to do, nowhere to go, no one but yourself and Mother. Feel her love grow. Feel her calm, abiding solace and presence.
