Stillness 4-18

Pause for no reason at all.

We tend to hurry through things, accomplishing necessary tasks, making appointments, checking off our to-do list. What happens when we pause? A very magical thing: we discover we have more time, not less. In that quiet stillness when we consciously choose to pause for a cup of tea or a deep breath or a quiet walk, time slows down too and we realize how deeply and beautifully resonant we are with the ebb and flow and harmony of life itself. It’s in stillness that we feel at one with the essence of time, rather than in competition with it. It seems paradoxical, but it’s in stillness that we can let go of our idea that time is whizzing past and instead truly sense its kindly abundance.
